Petroleum is responsible for many of the common items we rely on daily. Things like plastics, asphalt, rubber, paraffin wax, packaging materials, artificial fabrics, and many others are made from petroleum.
Petroleum still plays an important daily role in our society, and as such, new technologies are constantly being developed to recover and refine crude oil cleanly and safely.
Reducing our nation's dependency on foreign oil requires the use of these new technologies as well as continued exploration of new sources within our own lands.
