1st ANNUAL TRIBAL SUSTAINABILITY CONFERENCE
May 16 – 19, 2011
Billings Hotel and Convention Center, Billings, MT

NIEG is pleased to host its 1ST ANNUAL TRIBAL SUSTAINABILITY CONFERENCE at the beautiful Billings Hotel and Convention Center in Billings Montana!

As Native Americans, you hold the keys to some of North America’s most valuable natural resources. It is critical to understand how to properly utilize these resources to develop self-sustaining economies and create jobs. While doing so, it’s also important to protect tribes’ spiritual, traditional and environmental needs and lands.

In recognizing these important elements, NIEG has structured its conference to include a range of important topics relative to tribes:

  • RENEWABLE ENERGY technology basics and project development on tribal lands
  • GREEN BUILDING technologies
  • SUSTAINABLE LIVING (alternative agriculture methods for both self-sustenance and revenue/job creation)
  • Grant-writing and government programs
  • Community and project planning techniques
  • Successful tribal business models
  • Project Financing

You’ll also have an opportunity to participate in activities and sessions, which will include a Tribal Leadership Round Table, Year in Review, Legal Update, and discussions on the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. There will also be daily opportunities to network and meet with other tribal members as well as representatives from government agencies and energy vendors. Be sure to bring plenty of business cards with you!

We will end our conference with a farewell banquet featuring our good friend, Jared Stewart, award-winning blues artist and member of the Crow Nation.

Don’t miss out this exciting networking and educational opportunity! We look forward to seeing you there!
